Update March 11, 2014

Hello All!

Hope everyone is doing well (regardless of this crazy weather!)  I wanted to send out a quick update of some upcoming events, due dates and reminders.

ISAT
We will be taking our Science tests on Wednesday and Thursday.  Then, our ISAT testing is complete.  The students have done a great job giving 100% effort and showing flexibility throughout our day.

MATH
We have been working on our measurement unit.  We are coming close to the end of this unit.  It has involved some hands-on activities (which have been TONS of fun).  In addition to gathering data, the students have had the opportunity to incorporate technology with data analysis.  They created graphs on the computer to display their findings.We will test on this unit before we leave for spring break.

LITERACY
We had so much fun with mythology.  I am currently having my individual meetings with students regarding their portfolios.  We will finish mythology this week with a comparison writing piece.  We will be comparing Greek and Egyptian mythology.  Before spring break, I will be sending home a notice about our LAST (yes, I said last) WEB project of the year.

SOCIAL STUDIES
For our social studies unit after spring break, we will be completing our community service responsibilities.  We are going to share a book with our kindergarten friends and creating an assessment to share with them. See your child's folder for details.
