I hope you all had a great weekend! We had a great start to the week. The kids were able to begin redeeming their coupons and we have several students on our Award Winning Students wall.
Science
As we wait for the evaporation experiment to be ready for observation, we have begun our research on the 3 rock types. Home School Connection #2 has been assigned and is due Wednesday, September 11, 2013.
Literacy
We have started reading a new story, "Cricket in Times Square". We will continue our practice with literary elements, and begin our study of drawing inferences. At the end of the week we will create a postcard to demonstrate our understanding of these topics. Remember to continue with WEB book #1 and book diary.
Math
We have started on a new unit of study. The students took their pre-test for the unit today and we will begin the new material tomorrow. Additionally, I have assigned the Math Extension #2 story problem for this week. It will be due Friday, September 13, 2013. Remember to have your student show ALL work. It is important for me to see what is happening in their heads when problem-solving.
